Check Out Nike's Olympic-Ready Breakdancing Shoe
Official images of two of the new Nike Jam’s colorways.
by Logan Fairbrother · HypebeastNike took a trip to Paris to unveil its latest Olympic-ready creations just over a month ago. There, everything from the Air Pegasus Premium to the Alphafly 3 was highlighted. Though one creation that went under the radar was the introduction of the brand’s first breakdancing shoe: the Nike Jam. Designed with a low-cut build to support athletes participating in the new Olympic Breaking competition this summer, the Jam is likely to be sported by competitors this August when the sport makes its debut at the event.
After being previewed at Nike’s showcase, we now have an official visual breakdown of two colorways. Looking first at the mostly-black pair, it sees a mixed material upper sport black with silver reflective detailing running across the upper and the Swooshes on each side. From there, a gum midsole supports the sneaker with a flipped Swoosh visible at the lateral midfoot in black. As for its brown rendition, another mixed material build hosts brown hues while the Swooshes and upper’s stripes appear in black and silver. A “Sail” midsole and matching flipped Swoosh back the sneaker to round the design out.
At the time of writing, Nike has not unveiled when it will be launching its first breakdancing shoe. Look for the Nike Jam to arrive later this year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a currently unknown price point.
