Kieran Tierney plots next transfer move as Arsenal star makes Real Sociedad promise in emotional farewell

Tierney's season-long stint in La Liga has come to an end after being shipped out by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta last summer.

Kieran Tierney is plotting his next move after his Real Sociedad loan spell came to an end.

The Scotland star will return to Arsenal, although his future at the Emirates remains uncertain after being shipped out to Spain by Mikel Arteta. Tierney will now join up with Steve Clarke's squad for Euro 2024 and a good showing in Germany could tempt Arteta to bring him back into the fold. But it's likely the Celtic star won't be short of interest this summer if he finds himself on the fringes of the Gunners squad.

Tierney helped Sociedad qualify for Europe once more - it's now five seasons on the spin that they have finished in the Euro spots in La Liga. And he's promised fans of the Basque club that he will be back in some capacity after his campaign in San Sebastian. In an emotional Instagram post, Tierney said: "Thank you to everyone at @realsociedad. What an amazing and special club. Honoured to have been a part of it.

"Despite the injury setbacks, I gave everything every time I stepped on the park and you supported me all the way. It was incredible to be part of the team that made history and qualified for Europe 5 times in a row. Eskerrik asko. We will meet again."
