Man United drop cryptic transfer hint after FA Cup glory as Erik ten Hag makes £19m decision
The summer transfer window opens next month and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be expected to further bolster the Manchester United squad
by Jake Stokes · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United may have just dropped a major hint regarding Amad's future. The 21-year-old winger currently faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
Despite missing a large chunk of the campaign due to a knee injury, Amad eventually managed to force himself into Erik ten Hag's side and help the Red Devils get their hands on some silverware. In the dying embers of Manchester United's clash against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals, he found a winner.
Amad then helped the Red Devils defeat Coventry City in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium. While the £19million-rated forward didn't feature against Manchester City in the final, he certainly earned his winner's medal.

After the game, the Ivory Coast international posed for a picture with his teammates – Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Ramus Hojlund – in front of their new trophy. Showing off their exciting young squad on X, formerly known as Twitter, the official Manchester United account posted: "[Hazard emoji] WEATHER WARNING [Hazard emoji]. It just got really, really cold [freezing emoji]."
While it's very unlikely that Sir Jim Ratcliffe or any other club higher-up would have had input on the post-match content decisions, it would be slightly strange for Manchester United to parade Amad on social media if they didn't expect him to stay. Showing the four youngsters off suggests they each have long futures at Old Trafford.
While Amad, Garnacho, Mainoo and Hojlund will already be eyeing their next piece of silverware for the Red Devils, Ten Hag has insisted that he can go 'anywhere else to win trophies'. Speaking to reporters after the FA Cup final, the Dutchman said: "I'm in a project and we are exactly where we want to be.
"We're constructing a team. When I took over, it was a mess at United. We are on our way to construct a team for the future. We'll go with the ups and downs. What you see is the team is developing, the team is winning, at the end of the day it is about winning trophies."
Ten Hag, who faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, added: "Two trophies in two years is not bad. Three finals is not bad, but we have to keep going. I'm not satisfied with it. We have to do better. If they don't want me anymore, I go anywhere else to win trophies because that is what I did my whole career."
