Lucas Bergvall has realised that thinking he's "better than everyone else" isn't going to make him a "better footballer". Making a real name for himself in his homeland of Sweden with Djurgarden, the versatile midfielder will link up with Tottenham at the beginning of July after agreeing on a deal to join Ange Postecoglou's side back in February.

The hope will be that the 18-year-old can take his form from Sweden and become a major hit for the Lilywhites in the Premier League and Europe. Ahead of joining up with Son Heung-min and Co. at Hotspur Way in July, Bergvall will soon make his final appearance for Djurgarden in preparation of his Tottenham move.

His penultimate outing comes on Saturday when Djurgarden travel to Mjallby, before his final match for the club comes next Sunday in a home clash against Hammarby. Very much in the spotlight in Sweden after wowing for his club, Bergvall has opened up on the attention he has received and the important of trying to avoid any external pressure.

"Of course, sometimes it can be a bit much. Wherever you are, you hear things - at school, at home, among players or in town," he told Svenskafans' Forum, as reported by Sport Witness.

"Almost all the time you hear something and many people ask and wonder. You have to disconnect from that to be able to focus on yourself. So, it’s a lot, but at the same time it’s something I have to get used to now that I’m going to be a footballer.

"I feel like I have good people around me and I’ve realised for myself that thinking I’m better than everyone else isn’t going to make me a better footballer."

His final game for Djurgarden will be over before he knows it, with the player revealing his excitement and nerves about leaving the Stockholm-based club for a new life in the Premier League with Tottenham.

"At times it can be difficult to accept that fact. I don’t know if I’ve realised it yet. I’ve just tried to focus on Djurgarden. But now it’s so close, it’s hard not to think about it. I’m incredibly excited and a little nervous, as it should be," said Bergvall.

He added: "It feels sad to leave them here at home. But at the same time, my dream since I was a kid has been to play in the Premier League, it goes both ways."
